Hong Kong has a dynamic hospitality community and we are grateful that its members make time to visit ICI; they join visiting chefs and instructors from our network of global hospitality and culinary institutes, who are also happy to share their insights and experiences with our students.

ICI offer opportunities to participate in culinary competitions at different levels, including WorldSkills Competition and the International Young Chef Challenge.
All full-time higher diploma, diploma and certificate programmes are accredited by Hong Kong Council of Accreditation for Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and recognized under the Qualifications Framework of Hong Kong. Relevant programmes of Higher diploma and diploma graduates can add to their credentials by sitting exams to obtain professional qualifications conferred by:
Students who have completed any culinary or pastry and bakery programmes with working experiences are eligible to sit the exam for a professional qualification jointly offered by ICI and the Education Centre of the Hospitality Industry for Business & Management, Koblenz, Germany or Education Centre for Apprenticeship, (Chamber of Skilled Crafts) Handwerkskammer Koblenz, Germany. The Trade Test System comprises of Certified Cook, Certified Pastry Cook, Trainer Chef and Master Chef.
Graduates of the Higher Diploma programmes can apply for admission to relevant accredited top-up degree programmes offered by local or overseas institutes, including the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), University College Birmingham *, Sheffield Hallam University^, Northumbria University^ in UK and Johnson & Wales University USA.
* Applicants should meet the English language requirement set out by the University, ie. HKDSE English Language at Level 3 or above (with all components at Level 3 or above) / IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 or above (with all components score 5.5 or above) or equivalent.

Our Recruitment and Placement team organises school visits, career talks and outreach activities in order to engage secondary school teachers and students. In addition, the team provides career counselling and placement services to help our students develop their career in the culinary industry.
